Dean Baird

Dean started his working life as a graduate with JAWS, cutting his teeth with us for 6-7 years, before moving on to broaden his knowledge. After a hiatus of some 20 years he has returned, bringing a wealth of practical knowledge to the JAWS team. Dean’s experience is broad, working in education, tourism, heritage, retail, residential and hospitality projects in both Tasmania and Mainland Australia. Dean has won numerous awards across many sectors, including product design. He particularly loves projects of reinvention, where new life is given to tired buildings. His creative passion is driven by textural, warm, and natural palettes. 

Outside of Architecture, you can find Dean bushwalking, trout fishing, spending time with his family, cooking self-confessed ‘amazing’ curries and renovating his beach shack.
