Spirit Place

Spirit Place is a dynamic waterfront development which aligns with nipaluna /  Hobart’s vision of connecting nature, history, culture and business to each other in the heart of the city.

Designed around two anchor tenants, the Lark Distillery and Tasmanian Whisky Centre and the Tasmanian Visitor Experience Centre, the development reinstates the fine grained and formal edges of the historic townscape, creating laneways, nooks and courtyards where tourists can mingle with locals.

Pedestrian traffic through the site will create exposure for a range of boutique retail outlets showcasing the best of Tasmania’s products, producers, whisky, art and food.

New works have been carefully designed to enhance the appreciation of the existing buildings. Materials and finishes reference the textures in the Cove and precinct to reflect the handmade skills of an industrial past.

Green, living and lively public outdoor spaces will provide texture, shade and protection from the wind, consolidating the collection of buildings to create a dynamic, authentic and culturally rich precinct.
