The Fortescue Bay day shelter is located in the Tasman National Park, providing visitors with a great location to stop and take in the surroundings while exploring the Tasman Peninsula. The new day shelter also acts as an end point for the Three Capes Track, multi-day walk.

The structure and materiality is taken from the architectural language of the public huts on the walk, but developed further to create a more permanent presence.

Stone walls and concrete floors help ground the building and add a sense of durability, with generous eaves providing an open and welcoming gesture.

A nearby amenities block complements the shelter.
